One of the most powerful things about play is that it brings people together. It's been said that "You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation." We've also heard from several amazing families that are new in town or just don't feel connected yet that one of the things they want most is for their child to have friends their age to play with but also for themselves to connect to other parents as well. If you can identify with that (or even if you can never pass up the opportunity to make friends!) this is the perfect play date for you! We will have open play just like normal but will also have some additional activities geared towards friendship--both for kiddos and for parents! We will also have information about additional community resources, events, and groups.
Although we take a lot of pride in always being inclusive and sensory-friendly, we wanted to have a special night every week that specifically celebrates kids in the community with disabilities and still open for the general public as well.
Although some of our equipment does have weight and size restraints and we are typically geared towards kids 10 and under, we feel that there are some activities here that would benefit older kids with disabilities and sensory processing difficulties. Therefore, on Wednesdays from 3pm-7pm we will up our age limit to kids 15 and under for this one night every week.
